Mr. Cowie was awarded the Rockefeller / NEA Individual Artist Grant, The Dallas Museum of Art's Kimbrough Award, the Fellowship for Visual Art at the Museum Of Fine Arts, Houston, the Edward Albee Foundation Fellowship, the 2003 CT Critics Circle Award, and a 2001 Drama Desk Nomination. He is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design.
